Hi, I’m James Curran, graphic designer and founder of Beyond Visual. I work closely with my clients to create distinctive brand identities that have real meaning, relevance and uniqueness, to ensure they stand out from the competition.
Just over a decade ago, I began my design career working mainly in print. Always keen to branch out into other areas, I have been lucky in that several companies I have worked for have thrown me into all kinds of projects, including digital, animation, illustration and brand identity. This now means I have an array of skills and the experience to carry a brand identity across many aspects of company’s communications, ensuring the brand image and design standards are consistent.
Some of the industries I have designed for include: sustainable energy, fashion retail, fast food, aerospace, travel, construction, non-profits, legal and property services.
In order to be distinctive, design needs be meaningful, and steer clear of overused clichés and conventions within an industry or sector. The main focus of my business is to create work for clients that care deeply about their brand identity. Clients that want to stand out, not blend in or copy their main competitors.
Whether it be a distinctive logo, website, interactive presentation or promotional campaign, the aim is generate interest and set my clients apart from their competitors.
I normally work alone on projects which allows me to build a strong working relationship with clients, something I believe is vital to effective design.
Occasionally, a project may require more than I can handle alone, in which case I work with trusted freelance designers and developers.
